Is Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) On Steroids?

Now judgment time has come for Dwayne Johnson AKA The Rock.

You know, the guy who inspired you to howl, “CAN YOU SMELL…WHAT THE ROCK…IS….COOOOOKINGGGG!!!” every time you make your girl breakfast in bed.

He’s also the reason why you yell “FOCUS!!!” to gym rats who happen to be texting instead of lifting.

Some could say Dwayne was destined to be huge, with his dad Rocky Johnson being an absolute beast in his day as a pro wrestler. And his mother’s father was Peter Maivia, a Samoan wrestler who’s now included in the WWE hall of fame…it’s fair to say he also had a fair bit of meat on him.

The Rock’s WWE arch-nemesis, John Cena, also has several signs of steroid-use, as seen in our previous article. Is Dwayne also guilty of taking shortcuts?

Lets see!

The Rock has admitted to taking steroids…

In an interview with Fortune, Dwayne revealed that he took steroids once when he was 18 with some mates, not knowing what he was doing…and claims to have never touched them since.

There’s two possible reasons for why he’s said “he’s never touched them since”:

  1. Because it’s true – he hasn’t used steroids since his teen years
  2. It’s a lie. Possibly because he doesn’t want to set a bad example to kids across the world.

Dwayne Johnson’s Transformation

Since Dwayne Johnson’s WWE days, he’s bulked up an gained some quality mass, without adding any fat.

In fact, he looks more ripped (lower body fat) now than he did 20 years ago wrestling on TV.

Adding a significant amount of mass, whilst burning fat is unrealistic for any experienced weight trainer.

Also take note at how it’s not just Dwayne’s muscles that have grown, but also his head (skull), which appears larger and has a more square look to it.

The Rock’s muscles in the after picture now have a more synthetic/juicy look compared to before. This synthetic look can often be a giveaway sign of someone using anabolic steroids.

Flushed Skin

Also notice how The Rock’s skin looks a lot darker now than it did 20 years ago. This isn’t because his skin has actually got darker, but a sign of an elevated body temperature.

In white men, a higher body temperature can make their skin look pink/red.

With black/Samoan descent it can make your skin look a few shades darker.

The reason why a higher body temperature is linked to steroid-use is because steroids spike your blood pressure due to them increasing testosterone levels. An increase in testosterone results with an increase in LDL levels (the bad kind of cholesterol). As a result blood pressure spikes and a higher body temperature often follows.

This is why men have a higher rates of heart attacks compared to women, because their cholesterol levels are less healthy due to superior testosterone levels.

Huge Traps

Dwayne’s traps have always been one of his most dominant muscle groups.

It’s rare for a natty to have overdeveloped traps, but it’s extremely common for juicers to experience huge growth in the trapezius region, due to them having a high number of androgen receptors.

Thus when you hop on a steroid cycle, your traps will be the first muscle group to blow up, especially if you’re taking steroids with a high androgen rating.

Is Dwayne Johnson on Steroids?

Based on the evidence it seems like Dwayne Johnson IS taking steroids.

The Rock admitted to taking steroids for 2 weeks when he was 18, but it seems he’s lying when he stated he hasn’t touched them since, because he’s blown up and has several steroid side-effects since.

But what exactly has the Rock been cooking?!

The Rock Steroids Stack:

  • Testosterone
  • Human growth hormone

Dwayne’s may have testosterone in his wrestling days, helping him pack on size and look BIG. Steroids are rife in the wrestling industry, so if you did manage to get big NATURALLY, you’d almost certainly take them to dwarf your competition and make yourself the biggest alpha male in the ring.

…especially if you’ve already experimented with them as a teenager (which the Rock admitted to doing), as this shows you have a care-free mentality

Test would also explain his huge traps, stemming back during his WWE days.

Since finishing his wrestling career he’s focused more on bodybuilding and has gained a significant amount of size. However he hasn’t gained a huge amount of size as he was pretty jacked before. He’s also lowered his body fat and achieved a more ripped look simultaneously.

HGH is the compound Dwayne’s likely to have used to gain moderate amounts of muscle AND burn fat at the same time. His skull increasing in size is another sign of HGH use.

Some may point out that the Rock doesn’t have the famous ‘HGH gut’, where your belly starts protruding. However, many guys do take HGH without ever getting this ‘pregnant look’, because they don’t administer it with insulin.

Chul Soon (a well-known bodybuilder) also manages to escape this dreaded side effect whilst using HGH.

The combination of HGH and insulin is what causes this bloated belly effect, seen in many Mr Olympia bodybuilders such as Ronnie Coleman and Kai Greene.  It’s rumored that quite a few men’s physique guys even take HGH…and those guys are the most aesthetic guys in the world with tiny waists.

Other steroids Dwayne Johnson could have used over the years are:

  • Dianabol
  • Trenbolone

Dianabol works very similar to testosterone, being one of the best steroids around for increasing muscle mass and strength. The main differences is it’s more powerful than test for building muscle and can cause more side effects (and water retention).

The Rock may have used trenbolone at some point over the years, especially as his traps and shoulders are quite big in proportion to the rest of his muscle groups. Trenbolone causes more growth in these areas as it’s a very androgenic steroid. These muscles have a significant amount of androgen receptors, so they tend to get swole from steroids like tren. However, the Rock’s deltoids aren’t overly huge, which makes me think that if he has taken trenbolone – he hasn’t taken a very high dose; because otherwise his shoulders would be even bigger and have a more 3D effect.

Also the Rock’s muscles are big but pretty smooth-looking, which isn’t a sign of someone on trenbolone. Tren will cause your muscles to look insanely dry, with veins and striations (for users who are lean). This is because it flushes out a load of water from your body, acting like a diuretic. However, Dwayne looks like he’s holding some water, which points to him using other AAS.

Regardless of whether Dwayne Johnson has taken steroids or not, he’ll remain a hero to many men all around the world (similar to Arnold). It’s also important to remember that taking steroids won’t automatically give you a physique like Dwayne’s. He’s blessed with awesome Samoan genetics from his father and his dedication and commitment to training is second to none.
